Once upon a time, during the summer 2009, I've got an idea that I've presented to my friend,
MikeZ: lets get trekking boots, trekking poles, and lets walk between our cities. Both of us
thought it is a cool idea, but we did not manage to do it due to lack of proper time continuum
synchronisation. Few months later, in the last week of January 2010, while I was still
jet-lagged after just returning from travel to California, Mike wrote me on Gadu-Gadu messenger:
"Hey, remember that you wanted to take this walk with mountain gear? Lets do it now in the snow".
So we did ;-).
We walked the distance of ~33km from Koluszki to Lodz, on Sunday 31st January 2010. We have
choosen to go through smaller unused roads for the most of our travel. For ~10km we were just
breaking the snow on snow fields and forrests, where no one else walked before us through untouched snow. We have started
at 9 AM and finished at 5 PM. On the way we made one bigger stop of about 1h at restaurant for
dinner, 0.5h for breakfast, and at least 0.5h (probably more) of breaks for photos/map check/rest during the walking.
